Profile
In 1984, when SM Food Court Management was looking for restaurant concept offering filling but affordably priced food, Mrs. Teresa Dula Laurel, President of Cater King Food Corporation proposed to sell goto and lugaw with tokwa’t baboy as a side dish. Thus, Goto King was born.

As a yet untested concept, Goto King was initially allowed to sell its products from a cart inside the SM Cubao Food Court. It was such a big-seller that within a year of operation, it was given a regular stall in the Food Court and allowed to expand its menu to include merienda items, such as a pancit palabok, lumpiang ubod and dinuguan at puto and sago’t gulaman as refreshment.

The early success of the concept indicated that there is a market for Filipino food served fast food style. To exploit this opportunity Cater King Food Corporation established outlets in the food courts of Alimall and Tutuban Center Mall. It also ventured in stand-alone operations (independent of malls) open 24 hours.

Goto King is now one of the country’s fastest growing fastfood chains. Through its aggressive expansion program it looks forward to the fruition of its Corporate mission to be the leading Filipino company providing innovative, quality Filipino products and services for the local and international markets.
